Gary Mod, or simply GMod, is a sandbox game that allows users to manipulate objects and experiment with physics. The game uses a modified version of the Source engine, which uses elements from later video games such as The Orange Box and Left 4 Dead, but was later reworked into a standalone game.
In the sandbox mode, you can build anything and play with it. The first were Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Portal, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, etc. It also uses elements from other Source games, and recent updates include elements from several popular mods such as Eternal Silence and Age of Chivalry.
It also includes features of the Lua language, which allow users to create their weapons, game modes, and scenarios. Game modes are fully interchangeable between game types.
