The Last Faith is a side-scrolling Metroidvania with a gothic atmosphere. It features 2D pixel art and generous amounts of blood. Monster battles take place against the backdrop of gigantic cathedrals. A large, open world is available for exploration. The action takes place in a dark and desolate kingdom dominated by an ancient religion. As is traditional for the genre, there is backtracking. Initially, the hero can't reach every location. They must explore interconnected locations to gain new abilities. For example, demonic wings allow for an extra jump in mid-air, or a grappling hook, which can latch onto certain objects and pull the character to them.
The Last Faith features a wide arsenal of weapons: swords, scythes, pistols, whips, and more. These weapons can be enhanced with various buffs. The hero can also cast various spells. The combat system is fast and dynamic. You can perform combos and alternate between physical damage and magic. You can dodge enemy attacks by dodging backwards or rolling.
